Noodles&Company-Lawrence, Kansas

Right now I am in Lawrence, Kansas about 28 days into our tour. Having a girls' night out, which means that I am the only one out on this adventure :). Well Pono is with me but he doesn't count since he is sleeping in our purse (we share a purse, my doggie and I :>) at the moment while I have dinner. I decided to try a new place here called Noodles&Company. (Side note: whenever I am hungry and I try a new place that looks great, I wish I could have a free sampling of all that they make; I almost looked for it on the menu. I think it's cause I was raised in Hawaii around my Chinese family who always thought it was a good deal if we could go to a seafood buffet for a really good price. More for your money! Why not? -Because I would be huge is why not.) But I still love my options, options, options! But then a great thing happened while I was sulking that I only chose one dish to try...Dan, our wonderful roadie walked in and I realized I could try some of his food if he would let me and then I would be happy to have tried two things on the menu!
So Noodle&Company may not be the finest pasta dish you have, but they pack in the flavor for a good price and they offer All American (Mac and cheese& stroganoff) Mediterranean and Asian pasta dishes and if you don't like what you picked they'll make you another one, on them!

After trying their Whole Grain Tuscan Linguine (with parmesan crusted chicken added) and stealing some of Dan's Spicy Mushroom Stroganoff (with meatballs added), I would come here again because I like the gimmick and the food is comforting pasta, what more could you want? Tofu maybe? They'll add that too.

Sleeping in til 11am!!! Yay!!!
About to go on stage and I can't stop yawning! Some energy I'm gonna bring to the night :)

From backstage in Evanston, IL (Chicago Suburb)

Tonight we have a sold out show at this really cool and vibe-y place called The Space in Evanston (right near Chicago). For those of you that don't know, I am on the road with my husband for 7 weeks to promote our new album of duets that just came out last month (check it out on iTunes if you like- Tyrone and Elina- Different As Can Be) Pono lies next to me on the couch as I decide to pull out a new book. It is a very interesting book, one I would not have dared to read before. For within in it's pages lies suspense, great mystery and fear. The book is entitled "What to Expect Before You are Expecting"! Yikes! Is this new season possibly around the corner? Am I saying this out loud to cyberspace?!

I just finished reading the final book to "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" series (an enjoyable read by the way) and I was tempted to just get lost in another novel, but I brought this book and I felt like I needed to start sometime. However, the day I pulled it out in our 13 passenger van on the way to Minneapolis, something in me did not want to start reading it right away. I procrastinated and called a friend and played "Words with Friends" on my iPhone.

Anyways, now here I am and I have read about 10 pages and I am doing okay! I guess I should stop procrastinating and read a few more pages before the show =)
Dear Chicago, why are you so far away?

A new found game that's fun is Play On Words! Has anyone played it before?
Did anyone know that King of Prussia in Pennsylvania is the 2nd largest mall in America?
Playing cards with my mom in a 17th century farm house that aided in the underground railroad. Very cool.

I think we saw about 100 deer today at Valley Forge. Amazing.
